A wonderful post, and so true. Cats are such superior creatures. Since a child, I've always wanted to live with cats and cats only; it's a visceral, intuitive thing. That's why The Tiger Who Came to Tea is my favourite book; my fantasy in words and pictures.

My husband cowers when he opens a can of tuna; doesn't matter where the cats are they hear the barely perceptible crack of the can and of course the aroma of tuna and they are there, around his ankles, demanding their 10% right off the top. My husband, being wise, knowing his place, delivers his tribute and then he is left to enjoy his tuna.

One wonders if the Mafia learned all their ways from cats...
